In 2002, she graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. A year later, she started to work as a teacher of flute at the Hoofdstedelijke Academie voor Muziek, Woord en Dans, among others. She also taught AMC, worked in primary and secondary education and performed with several chamber music ensembles. Since February 2018, she has been the acting director of the now Hoofdstedelijke Kunstacademie. According to Bertrand: This is a very exciting and varied job.
