Competition of the International Music Academy FORTE 2025

 
GENERAL TERMS and CONDITIONS:
We can accept MAXIMUM 200 participants (solo instrument & singing & chamber music), based on: “First come – first served” principal.
Inscription can be closed before the deadline if number of participants reached 200.
 
Rehearsals will be possible:
Friday July 3rd or 4th 2025 10h00-19h00, timing will be informed separately.
 
• Health insurance & insurance for violin, cello, flute, viola has to be taken by the participant.
• All works must be performed by heart without partitions EXCEPT modern/new music composed after 1900.
• The prize-winners commit themselves to giving a benefit concert for the “Music
Academy FORTE”
• The candidates need to be present minimum 30min before the performance.
• The public is prohibited from photographing or filming during the performances. The
direction of the “Music Academy FORTE” has the right to do and reproduce pictures,
video and audio recordings, as well as broadcasting on the radio and TV channels.
• Members of the Jury are musicians and teachers with worldwide reputation.
• Decisions of the jury are irrevocable. Only the members of the Jury shall be
competent for any dispute. Their decisions are irrevocable and should not be justified. It Members of the jury can possibly decide not to give any prize in one category. If two candidates end up at the same place, the President of the Jury will decide about the winner.
• The “Music Academy FORTE” competition reserves the right, without payment of fees, to record and distribute recordings for media and other purposes, including the Internet, and to televise, broadcast, film, record, videotape, photograph or live stream all stages of the competition, all prize performances and concerts.
• The “Music Academy FORTE” competition reserves the right to change the conditions and rules in the interest of the competition.
• In case of refusal of the candidate to participate in the competition, the registration fee will not be refunded.
• All the pieces chosen by the candidates themselves must be accepted by the Jury and published in a repertoire.
• The announcement of all category’s finalists will take place after the CONCERT of some winners appearance (so at the end of the day of the competition.)
• Important information to all musicians who choose to participate on premises (in Brussels): all rewards, diplomas, prizes will be given after this concert on stage. In case of if participant is not present at the concert any rewards will not be delivered.
• Important information to all musicians who choose to participate online (video): all rewards, diplomas, prizes will be send by mail before July 15th 2025.
• The passage of the candidates is organised in alphabetical order. Nevertheless, the direction of the Competition has the right to modify their order.
• The direction of the Competition is not responsible for any physical or material damages that could result from the participation at the contest.
• Each participant is responsible for personal medical insurance, risk and personal belongings insurance.
• From the edition 2023 till the new order: no music by Russian composers can be performed during the competition.
 
Personal Property and Possessions
Students, parents and staff members are responsible for their personal property and possessions whilst on the school premises, or when partaking in school activities such as trips and school events. The school will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or theft of personal property. Students, parents and staff members bring items onto the premises at their own risk. We advise students to carry their personal possessions with them into the classroom when having lessons, and do not leave them in the corridor. 
 
Conditions for Accompanists:
After preselection if you’ve been accepted and in case you are unable to provide your own piano accompanist for yourself, it is possible to contact to our accompanist. Each participant who needs accompanist will receive information about that at the moment of finale registration. Participant is welcome to make the arrangements with accompanist in advance in order to avoid complications.
 
Tax for the participant has to be paid directly to the accompanist in cash before the first rehearsal. Official document can be provided if needed.
 
Tax for the participant:
• 50 Euro category debutants
• 70 Euro category A
• 100 Euro categories B, C, D, E, F, G, Adults
 
The tax includes:
• our home practising of your repertoire before the competition
• 1 rehearsal 30 min for cat debutants, A
• 1 rehearsal 45 min for cat B, C, D, E, F, G, Adults
• performances and concert of winners (if participant has to perform).

REQUIREMENTS TO VIDEO RECORDINGS (in case of ONLINE COMPETITION):
1. One video link to all pieces
2. Each piece must be recorded in a single take and without any editing of the audio or
video.
3. Cuts between movements of the same piece are not permitted.
4. The camera must be fixed and placed in front of the musician with clear visibility of
the hands and body.
5. Only video recordings on Grand Pianos or Upright Pianos are allowed.
6. The video recording must not be older than two years.
7. The video recording must have a reasonable video and audio quality (at least 720p)
with no background noise.
8. Participants who do not respect the rules will be disqualified.

VISA
Our festival can provide support for participants (masterclass, competition) in obtaining short-term tourist visa to Belgium (except for citizens of Russian Federation and Belarus). You can find the list of documents and other information connected to applying for a short-term cultural visa to Belgium in the Consulate or in a Visa Application Centre of the Kingdom of Belgium of your region.
